This will be the most in-depth discussion about where the grapes are grown, and each region has its own unique qualities.

Montagne de Reims

The hill is located South of Reims, with many south or southeast sloping vineyards allowing the wine grapes to reach their optimum ripeness. The soil here is dominated by chalk, with more clay and sand in the topsoil, making it more suitable for Pinot Noir. The soil structure results in a more intense Champagne style, with heavier wines and Richer flavour. 

Vallée de la Marne

The valleys along the Marne have many slopes where vineyards are grown. Aÿ is the only Grands Cru village in the Marne Valley, and it is the only one Grands Cru, located outside the city, named Épernay (Épernay). The focus of the Marne Valley is the Pinot Meunier grape, which ripens more easily here because the climate is cooler and produces a more intense Champagne style with more smoke and mushrooms smell. 

Côte des Blancs

The slope facing the east side that captures more sun, and the vineyards are diverse, with predominantly chalky soils with shallower soil composition, and more gravel with some clay and lignite. The Côte d'Ivoire is dominated by Chardonnay and produces some of the best single-variety champagnes in the market. 

Côte de Sézanne

White Hills is another slope at the south, Chardonnay also has a similar advantage as White Hill. Despite the potential of the area, the wines here are often blended into bigger winery brands. 

Côte des Bar

This region is far from other Champagne regions, between Champagne and Burgundy. The region is mainly planted with Pinot Noir (Pinot Noir), producing a more intense Champagne style, like the Champagne of Reims Hill.

One more final tip, if you're a big fan of sparkling wine, champagne is the benchmark for quality and is worth trying.
